| MH saves six month male baby through artificial ventilator | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 25 166 Military Hospital saved the life of a male baby born of a 40 year old lady. An emergency cesarean section operation was performed to save her life and a boy weighing 1200 grams was born. The baby did not breathe at birth and the doctors had to administer him artificial respiration. Despite all the challenges of treating such a small baby, the Neonatal Intensive care unit of the Military Hospital headed by Col RG Holla could save the baby’s life by instilling surfactant into his lungs and putting him on the ventilator for three days. The baby is now off the ventilator and keeping good health. |
