Early Times Reporter Bhallesa | June 25 Apprehending great threat to the lives and property of the inhabitants of Swara, Gwari and Chilli Panie due to land erosion, senior Congress leader and MLC Mohammed Sharief Niaz has demanded immediate construction of protection bunds where land erosion has taken place. Addressing public meeting at Swara Chilli in Bhalessa area of Doda District, Niaz impressed upon the government to take up construction of protection bunds in the affected areas on war footing to save the inhabitants of these villages. The Congress leader made a detailed report about the achievements of the Azad led government and maintained that during this dispensation the hilly and hitherto neglected areas received due attention in the matter of development and other spheres. While responding to the demands put forth by the people, Niaz urged the government for providing water, electricity, bridle paths in Kattala, Chhach, Nalli, Doolu where 100% habitants belong to Gujjar Community. He also demanded opening of primary schools, Anganwari Centres, Allopathic dispensary and veterinary dispensary in these areas. On this occasion over a dozen prominent workers of NC and BJP along with their supports joined the Congress party in presence of Niaz. Those who also addressed the public meeting included Ch. Ghulam Nabi Doie, Harbans Lal, S.P. Parihar, Haji Shah Din, Ch. Hakim Dina, Krishan Lal, Hardeep Kumar, Gansara Singh, Mohd Abass Majboori, Haji Mohd, Abass Khan, Ch. Mohd Yousif, Ch. Abdul Qayoom, Parvez Ahmed Wani, Akhter Hussain Mir, Inaytullah and Younis Rashid. |
