| JU scholars burn Beig’s effigy | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 25 The Jammu University Research Scholars Executive Association (JURSEA) today staged a protest demonstration against the Dy Chief Minister Muzzafar Hussain Beig against his opposition to allotment of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB). Scholars as a protest burnt the effigy of Beig and asked him to desist from ranking up the issue of allotment of land to SASB by the government as it will have serious repercussions. Vikas Sharma President JURSEA said that JURSEA will not tolerate any insult to SASB or the yatra and warned to intensify the allegation in case of PDP leaders will not tender an unconditional apology for their highly objectionable remarks against shrine board. Sharma also criticized the chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for constituting an inquiry committee against the governor’s principal secretary, instead of sacking Dy. CM Beig. He further said that it is nothing but a vote bank politics of PDP leaders and condemned the whole controversy created by them including scholars of Kashmir University and of state government functionaries.
