| Bhalla flags off Anti drug rally | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 26 On the occasion of International Anti Drug Day a rally was organised by JKSociety for Promotion of Youth and Masses an NGO. The rally ran in the Jammu city and its adjoining area. JKSPYM also concluded their de-addiction camp which was running since last 10 days in Mishriwala. The Flag off ceremony of the Anti Drug Rally was performed by Sri Raman Bhalla, MLA Gandhinagar from near Durga Mandir, in Rampura, Jammu. On this occasion Bhalla said that activities like this are very helpful for the general masses, particularly among the youth. He further said that he really appreciate the efforts of the JKSPYM for conducting such kind of events. He also said that he is always ready with his helping hand to support this kind of activities. The Rally was started from Rampura, and covered the entire city including Nanak Nagar, Jewel, Panjthirthi, University, Narwal, Bakshi Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Talab Tillo, Shalamar, Janipur, DPL Jammu etc. The staffs and the volunteers interacted with the local people and distributed pamphlets, brochures and other IEC materials to the general masses from the Rally. Also more than 50 Anti drugs slogans were displayed by the society on the main chowks of the city. More than 20,000 pamphlets and brochures having information and massages on ill effects of drugs have been distributed by the society. Rakesh Kumar, secretary of the organisation said that it has been really the matter of proud for the organisation that more than 50 volunteers took part in this activity. And he also requested the people of Jammu to come forward and fight against this menace, because together it is possible. Dr. Arun Sharma and Dr. Manoj Bhagat were also present on the occasion. He further said that all the staff members of the society including, Sanjay Jandiyal, Ashwani Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, Anil Kumar, Deepak Kumar, and Shailendar put lots of efforts to make this program a successful one. |
