| 5-Day long Bharat Nirman campaign concludes at Bani | | | Early Times Reporter Kathua | June 26 Valedictory function of 5-day long Public Information Campaign organized to create an awareness of various centrally sponsored schemes under Bharat Nirman flagship program by Press Information Bureau (PIB) Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was held in the premises of government degree college Bani here today.. MLA Bani Prem Sagar Aziz was the chief guest while D.R. Sharma DDC Kathua was the guest of honor on the occasion. Among others, DIG Jammu-Kathua range Farooq Khan, Director Tourism Ajay Khajuria, Sectary KVIB R.C. Sharma, Director Family Planning Dr. Kulbushan Panotra, Managing Director SC/ST Corporation R.K. Bhagat, SSP Kathua, other districts officers besides large number of locals were present. Speaking on the occasion, Prem Sagar said that Bharat Nirman campaign is to see whether the centrally sponsored schemes and projects are benefiting the general masses or not. Through this initiative we have tried to locate the problems of masses and put their cases before the Government. He said that if some schemes launched by the central Government need modification for a particular area, the local administration should give the feed back so that the scheme can yield good results. A scintillating cultural program was also presented on the occasion by the local artist and artists particularly Romalo Ram and party, Vijay Kumar and Party, Yudhshtra Gupta and Rekha Rani and artists from Song and Drama division, Jammu. More than 40 departments had established their stalls exhibiting their departmental activities as well as achievements under various centrally sponsored schemes. Meanwhile Director Tourism said that work on Rs.2. 26 crore TRC Complex at Bani is in progress. It will have 10 double bedrooms, six dormitories, one dining hall, a recreational hall with landscaping and fishing decks. Later the Chief Guest presented mementoes to the district heads who had installed stalls in the Public Information Campaign. |
