Jammu | June 26
Stepping up their tirade against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Congress and National Conference (NC) for present controversy over transfer of forest land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), various Jammu based political parties have sought the intervention of Governor N N Vohra and urged him to dismiss present coalition government of Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) has accused Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beig of an "ISI agent" who is executing its agenda in J&K. Addressing media persons here on Thursday, JKNPP patron Professor Bhim Singh alleged that the ongoing controversy was a "pre-planned" strategy of ISI to create communal wedge between two communities of Jammu and Kashmir.
He held both Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed equally responsible for present situation and demanded dismissal of coalition government of the state. He also demanded that Mufti should be booked under sedition charges.
Terming the raking of land transfer controversy as unfortunate, he asked "How can National Conference patron Dr Farooq Abdullah justify his cabinet order passed in 1998 acquired 623 Kanals of forest land in Sidhara for the construction of Kashmir Muslim Migrant Colony? How can NC and PDP justify transfer of land for construction of Baba Gulam Shah Badshah and Islamic Universities?" He also demanded judicial probe into all the cases where the government and forest land has been transferred since 1997.
He, however, warned that JKNPP will launch "Quit Jammu Movement" if the raking of present controversy was not stopped immediately.
Meanwhile, People Revolutionary Movement has warned Congress led coalition government of serious repercussions if the ongoing "vote bank" politics over land transfer to SASB was not stopped immediately.
"PDP is trying to tear apart the secular fabric of not only Jammu region but whole of India. Vote bank politics of PDP over land transfer to SASB and the criminal silence of Congress over the issue have dangerous potential of a communal holocaust all over the country," told Rajinder Jamwal, senior Peoples Revolutionary Movement.
In a press statement issued here today, the state unit of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has also criticized to Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's decision to stop creating facilities for the Amarnath pilgrims on the 800 Kanals of land 'transferred' to the Shrine Board.
The state BJP president Ashok Khajuria alleged that it is clear that it is not Azad but other mainstream and separatist leaders like Geelani, Mufti Mohd Sayeed and Muzaffar Hussain Beig, who are ruling the roost in the state.
He also lambasted Ghulam Nabi Azad for taking such an "outrageous" decision without evolving any consensus on the issue. He alleged the decision to suspend construction of pre-fabricated structures at Baltal simply means that Azad has made common cause with the PDP and created obstacles in the smooth conduct of the Amarnath pilgrimage.
He appealed to the Governor N N Vohra to immediately intervene in the matter and ask the SASB authorities not to suspend construction of pre-fabricated structures at Baltal as it is the duty of the Shrine Board to create facilities for the pilgrims.
Meanwhile, ABVP have also lodged strong protest against land transfer and rally, but at Channi Himmat some Muslim Youth try to disturb rally. At the university campus activists also had rally and raised slogans against the government.
Shiv Sena Hindustan activists also held protest rally against Muzzafar Baig and burnt his effigy at Dogra Chowk. Addressing the protestors leaders of Sena said, that some anti-Hindu forces are along with government is encouraging to ban annual yatra.
