| JU scholars’ deputation calls on dean | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 26 A delegation of JURSEA members led by president Vikas Sharma met Dean Academic Affairs (DDA), University of Jammu, and apprised him of the latest situation after yesterday’s protest where PG Depts of Economics was locked in protest of irregularities and injustice being done by the HoD. The delegation submitted a memorandum to the DDA and demanded impartial inquiry of all regularities done in gross violations of university norms and rules by the concerned HOD. It was also brought into the notice of DDA that in spite of two days time given to the HOD by the JURSEA in settling of pending cases of the scholars nothing concrete has been used by the HOD to suppress this protest by making threatening calls to the scholars and today the HOD forcibly locked the computer lab of the department. Meanwhile, Sharma warned that such type of dictatorship will not be tolerated and demanded immediate removal of the concerned HOD if found guilty. DDA promised to look into the matter by forming a committee which will submit its reports with in a week as the issues raised by the scholars are serious in nature. The members present were Kamaldeep Singh, Jasvinder Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Vijay Kumar, Kuldeep, Narinder Singh and Gurvinder Singh. |
