Randhir appeals people to maintain communal harmony

Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh and state NCP Chief has appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to maintain communal harmony and not to be provoked in the prevailing situation being created by some elements and political parties to get political mileage in the coming Assemble Elections. Singh said the nexus between politicians, Bureaucrats and Contractors have used militancy as industry in the state, and now again trying to catch the fish in the troubled water by using the religion which is a sacred one to be followed religiously, not to harm other religions.
Singh who himself was Tourism Minister in early 70’s and took over after the great disaster where hundreds Sadhus and pilgrims died during holy yatra because of unprecedented rains and snow in the area Amarnath condemned the dubious role of some responsible people who had been and are running the state Govt. an d are issuing most irresponsible statements and are bent upon to destroy the communal harmony and peaceful atmosphere of the state during the peak tourist season, Singh said he vividly remembered how he used to get cooperation as a Minister tourism during Holy yatra from the Muslim of valley right from start of yatra from Dashnami Akahara, Srinagar via Anantnag District to the Holy cave and the way theyatris used to get the receptions from Muslim, Pandits, Local Nambardars, Zaildars, leading people, and entire local administration.
Singh said the entire population right from Jammu to the Holy cave irrespective of caste and creed used to be involved in this Holy yatra and said it has to be revived after following old rules prevailing in the areas from centuries and he suggested formation of committee comprising of men belonging to social groups, NGO’s, philanthropist and local people to provide inputs and their valued suggestion to be taken by the Highest body of the Govt.
