| 76 blanks 14 Bn in CRPF Hockey | | Annual inter-battalion competitions | | Early Times Reporter

The 76 Bn today blanked the 14 Bn to enter the quarterfinals of annual inter-battalion hockey tournament of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organized by 91 Bn at Group Centre Bantalab, near here.
Sailing on a superb performance from Balkar Singh, the 76 Bn made it a one-sided contest winning the tie 12-0. Balkar Singh scored seven goals while Ram Kumar made four. Topno contributed one.
The second match was won by 28 Bn beating 184 Bn by five goals to two. Trinath scored two goals for 28 Bn while Sarwan Nanda, Manhindra and Topno contributed one each. Likima scored both the goals for 184 Bn.
The five-day long tournament was declared open by Deputy Inspector General of CRPF, L R Sidhra, who was chief guest in the opening function yesterday.
In all, 15 teams drawn from different battalions of the CRPF are taking part in this knock-out tournament, which is organized by the 91 bn under the guidance of Commandant, B S Sagwan.
Earlier, in the opening match played yesterday, hosts 91 bn blanked 151 bn 5-0. |
