| VOJ presented Challan in backdoor appointment against then DEO Poonch | | |
Jammu, September, 01:- Vigilance Organization Jammu today presented Challan in much publicized backdoor appointments in district Poonch in the year of 1989 made by the then District Education officer Poonch Mr. Mohd Yousaf Kohli.
In the Challan it has been submitted that in the present case the then DEO Poonch had unauthorizedly made 15 appointments of teachers, laboratory assistants and laboratory bearers in an illegal manner and abusing his official position. He appointed a number of persons as a stop-gap arrangement and on the adhoc basis, but despite a week long break after expiry of 89 days, the teachers continued to work on the their post without any valid order and received emoluments regularly from education block Kanuyian. The then Block Education officer Kanuyian Mrs. Vijay Lakshmi Sharma was direct involve in the act and some cases double drawls were also made by the BEO against one post. The accused confirmed undue benefit to a number of teachers. Accused persons committed irregularities abused their official position to get undue benefit for themselves and the beneficiaries. The present case was registered and investigation was taken-up during the course of investigation it was found that the then DEO Poonch Mr. Yousaf Kohli had made illegal appointments against various posts.
During the investigation nothing substantial has been found against the then BEO Kanuyian Mrs. Vijay Lakshmi Sharma as all the appointments orders were issued illegally by the then DEO Poonch Mr. MY Kohli. VO presented the Challan against Mohd Yousaf Kohli. Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Mr. JR Kotwal after accepting the Challan directed the Vigilance Organization to lead the evidence in this case on next date of hearing.
It is worthwhile to mention here that VO has reregistered various FIRs against the then DEO Poonch Mr. MY Kohli in which Mr. Kohli obtained bails from the Court Special Judge Anticorruption. |
