| RK Bharati foundation condemns communalizing of Yatra | | | New Delhi | June 27 RK Bharati Foundation has strongly condemned the communalizing of the holy Amarnath Yatra by some vested interests and has called for a strong and fast action against the perpetuators of violence in Jammu and Kashmir. In a meeting held under the chairmanship of the Foundation Chairman King C Bharati at New Delhi the foundation has said that peaceful and smooth yatra has been dragged into unnecessary controversy by giving it a communal colour. The meeting which was attended by top working group members including Rockey Pandita, discussed the issue threadbare and asked the Prime Minister of India to intervene and save the situation in Kashmir going back to 1990s. A resolution was passed in the meeting where it was decided to initiate a campaign against the communal forces who were trying to polorise the people of Jammu and Kashmir on communal lines. Speaking on the occasion King C Bharati said that the yatra which has a 400 year old tradition has never seen such an embarrassing situation where two communities have come out in open to fight an imaginary battle which ha nothing to do with the true Kashmiriyat. Bharati said that the land transfer was an issue between the state government and the Shrine board and dragging yatra and yatris into it was the result of the nefarious design of some vested interests to polorise the state for their vote bank politics. He said that the issue must be addressed immediately and preventive measures taken to provide safety and security to the yatris. Bharati has also appealed Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Shabir Shah, Yasin Malik to use their good offices to stop people of Kashmir Valley from attacking the yatris which would only damage the reputation of Kashmiris the world over. He appreciated the appeal of Geelani to people asking them to stop attacking tourists in the Valley. Amit Bindroo, a senior member of the foundation in his speech said that Delhi unit of the RK Bharati Foundation would soon petition the president of India seeking her intervention in the affair to resolve the issue in an amicable manner acceptable to all. The foundation also asked the state government to act fast and prevent further deterioration of law and order situation in the state. |
