People Democratic Party (PDP) organized a rally today at Gool under the leadership of Shamshad Shan and advocate Haji Abdul Majid in which a large number of prominent workers of National Conference joined PDP and expressed faith in the leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and party president Mehbooba Mufti.
Speaking on the occasion, Shamshad Shan cautioned the people against vicious campaign launched by some vested interests against the party. She said that PDP has emerged as biggest political force in the State which has carved out a new path of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
She said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir has set an example of good governance and initiated many steps to remove disparities with regions and sub-regions. Making a dig at previous National Conference for its failure to mitigate miseries of the masses, PDP leader said that NC was responsible for problems being faced by the people.
Speaking on the occasion, advocate Majid said that policies being propagated by the PDP, for restoring peace, have been accepted at national and international forums. It was, he said, result of the policies and programs of PDP that people have been living with peace and dignity. He said that only PDP can ensure sustainable peace in the State and it was high time to strengthen hands of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti for restoring lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Since its inception PDP has been suggesting that gun is no solution of any problem", he said and adding, "peaceful political mean is the only mechanism to solve vexed problems".
Shahbaz Mirza, Mohammed Sadiq, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, Mohammed Sadiq Tragwal and others addressed the rally in which NC activists namely Ghulam Rasool, Mohammed Iqbal Mugal, Pritam Singh, Mohammed Sharief Hajam, Ghulam Akbar, Mandeer Singh, Nazir Ahmed Hajam, Nazir Ahmed Beigh and Bashir Ahmed Hajam joined PDP.
