| Khoda confers medals on three cops | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | June 27 In recognition of their gallantry act, Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda conferred Parakram Padak Medals in favour of three cops. These cops had shown extra-ordinary commitment while performing their professional duties on June 22, 2008 at village Shopri Bagh, Chaterhama-Zakura where an encounter with terrorist occurred and they sustained injuries. The decision to confer the Medals was taken at a Police Establishment Board meeting held here today under the chairmanship of DG Police. Nominations of the cases were examined and decision to award these Padak was taken after thorough deliberation and in light of norms of Union Home Ministry. Those conferred the Parakram Padak Medals are Sub Inspector Rajesh Kumar, Sgct Sanjay Kumar and Constable Bilal Ahmed. Speaking on the occasion, Khoda lauded the performance of Jammu and Kashmir Police and said that during the turmoil many precious lives have been lost by the organization while protecting the lives and properties of people of the State. He impressed upon all ranks to ensure more discipline and commitment in their profession to keep the name of the force in high esteem, adding that cops should make all out efforts to win the hearts of common man and earn respect in the society. |
