Mangat flags off Srinagar-Bhaderwah bus service

Srinagar, September 01 – Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma has said that change of portfolios will not affect the functioning of any government department as Ministers has the collective responsibility in the government to achieve the goal of peace, prosperity and over all development of the state.
Mr. Sharma was interacting with media persons after flagging off SRTC bus service from Srinagar to Bhaderwah here this morning.
The Minister said that with the introduction of Srinagar-Bhaderwah bus service, a long pending demand of the people of the area has been fulfilled. He said demands from different quarters to ply SRTC bus services are gaining momentum as the SRTC has introduced new buses with improved facilities and reasonable fare charges. He said Corporation has already introduced bus services on different routes which were neglected during the past. Srinagar-Kihstwar via Synthen Top bus service which was introduced last month is attracting more and more passengers and earning good revenue, Mr. Sharma said.
Former MLA Bhaderwah Mr. Sharief Niaz thanked Mr. Sharma for starting bus service from Srinagar to Bhaderwah and said that Bhaderwah is a famous tourist resort and this bus service will add another facility especially for tourists and the people of area in general. He said Mr. Sharma during his tenure as Transport Minister has done a lot to improve the functioning of Transport Department and hoped that this gesture will continue under the able guidance of Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen who has been allotted Transport Department in the recent reshuffle.
Managing Director SRTC Mr. Sanjiv Verma informed that SRTC is committed to provide better services to the people of the state both in urban and rural areas. He said in addition, the Corporation is also meeting the requirement of different Government Departments for transporting essential commodities and carrying government functionaries to various destinations as and when required.
