| Soz meets PM | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 27 Amidst the mounting tension and a political deadlock persisting in Jammu and Kashmir, the Pradesh Congress Committee president and Union Minister for Water Resources Saif-ud-Din Soz today called on the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Sources close to Soz told EARLY TIMES that the PCC Chief called on the Prime Minister in New Delhi this evening to give him an insight of the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir. In the meeting which last for around 20 minutes, Soz is reported to have informed the Prime Minister about the deepening crisis in the state following protests over transfer of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board. The meeting also assumes significance in view of the Peoples Democratic Party’s threat to pull out of the government if the land diversion order was not cancelled before June 30. The PDP is waiting for the return of its president Mehbooba Mufti who is away in London. |
