2-day Vertical Interaction Course of JKAP concludes
Sharing each other experience key for successful policing: DGP

Srinagar, September 01 :- Stressing for maintaining close synergy by the various wings of Police force, the Director General of Police, Mr. Gopal Sharma has said that exchange of ideas and experience at all level of police personnel was key for successful policing.
The Director General of Police was addressing the concluding functions of two day “Vertical Interaction Course” organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here yesterday. As many as 18 different topics pertaining to law and order and modern trend in the crime and public utility were deliberated by 35 senior police officers from all over the state.
He said that though the policing in the Jammu and Kashmir is a challenging job but he was hopeful that the Jammu and Kashmir Police has successfully tackled every challenge during last one and a half decade of the turmoil in the state. Complimenting the police force in general and the Jammu & Kashmir Armed Police in particular, Mr. Sharma said that their sacrifices and velour has helped in turning the situation to a near normal acknowledged not only in the state but also in the country as a whole.
Saying that though maintaining law and order is primary duty of police force, the Director General of Police said that providing much needed relief to the people in the time of natural calamities like earth quake, snow storm and flood was also in the priority sector where the police has to devote its full resources. In this connection, Mr. Sharma lauded the J & K Armed Police for rendering selfless services to the quake victims of the state during last October.
The Director General of Police said that the J & K Armed Police was on fore front to render its valuable services to the yatries during two months long Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra, it is because of their devotion that incident free yatra culminated this year. He also appreciated the spirit displayed by the police personnel during the Miraj-ul-Alam and other religious festivals held in the state from time to time and hoped that the same spirit will be displayed in future as well.
Mr. Sharma said that four more battalions of armed police are being raised in the state for which process has already begun. He said these battalions would be available to the state shortly thereby further strengthening the armed police.
Referring to the two-day Vertical Interaction Course, the Director General of Police said that this will go a long way in improving efficiency of the police officers and hoped that sharing each other experience will certainly benefit and improve the performance at all levels in the police. He stressed that such interaction courses should be organized at provincial and district levels so that lower rank officials could also be benefited by such courses. He also thanked the organizers of this course for their devotion, which made this programme a success.
Earlier welcoming the participants, the Additional Director General of Police (Armed), Mr. P.S.Gill said that such type of Interaction Courses is imperative for the police personnel to meet the modern challenges of the police. He said the police activities are not confined to just to maintain the law and order but it has to strive for winning the hearts and minds of the masses which he said could not be possible unless people friendly posture is exhibited by the entire police personnel.
Speaking on the concluding function, Inspector General of Police (Armed) Sheikh Owais threw light on various activities of J & K Armed police and said that this force has been on the forefront to tackle the law and order situation and has helped the suffering masses in the hour of need. He said that because of various people friendly approach this force has been able to earn the confidence of the people de said of the state.
Mr. Owais also highlighted the various deliberations took place in two days Vertical Interaction Course and said that participants had shown keen interest in deliberations which helped the officers in sharing each others view points.
