| Army public school organises 4 days physics workshop | | | Early Times Reporter Udhampur | June 28 Army Public School, Udhampur organised 04 days in Service Training Programme for Faculty Enrichment in Physics for the teachers of Army Public Schools and Army Schools, teaching at secondary levels and senior secondary levels, under the aegis of HQ Northern Command, from 25 Jun to 28 Jun 2008. The workshop was inaugurated by Lt Col (Retd) VK Bector, Director (AWES), Northern Command by lighting the inaugural lamp. In his welcome speech Col Bector said that more and more emphasis should be laid to organise such kind of workshops to cope up with the modern trends and techniques of the teaching and learning process so that no stone remain unturned to shape-up the future of the children. Dr (Mrs) Kiran Singh, Principal Army Public School, Udhampur welcomes the teachers and the guests on behalf of the Hon’ble Chairman of the school and assured them a comfortable stay at APS, Udhampur. Some senior teachers like Mr Rajesh Vohra, Mrs Veena Razhan and Mrs Rinku Shah were also present on the occasion. In the workshop, Mr Vikramaditya, Mr Muneesh Gulati and Arunesh Mahajan renowned resources persons of the city delivered their lectures on “ Current Electricity”, “Fluid Motion”, Optics and Electromagnetic Induction” respectively. Commencing on the Training Sessions, Col Amarjit Singh, Col GS (Edn) of Northern Command stressed that Physics teachers must incorporate these learner centered “Learning and Doing’ methods to shift the focus from Physics as an abstract subject to one related to understanding of everyday’s life problems. Dr (Mrs) Kiran Singh, Principal of Army Public School, Udhampur presented the votes of thanks by thanking all the teachers for their active participation and valuable academic contribution during his maiden venture and hoped that such Faculty Development Programme would continue to enrich the teachers and enable them to interact with their students effectively in the dynamic teaching learning environment. |
