| PTU signs up with UK Universities | | | Early Times Reporter

The courses offered by Punjab Technical University through its Distance Education Program have been recognized by Universities and Colleges in United Kingdom for admissions and lateral entry into their further programs. The students under the “International Progression” can take admissions in prestigious institutions of U.K. like New College Nottingham, City College Norwich and Birmingham City University & University College Birmingham.
It is pertinent to mention that within India PTU Distance Education courses are approved by Distance Education Council, New Delhi and all students under this program are eligible for Central Government jobs. The courses are as per the nomenclature of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
A delegation comprising M. Dewan and headed by Dr. R.P. Singh Dean DEP PTU had visited various institutions in U.K. and a series of meetings were held with the International Institutions. The International Institutions had widely appreciated the network of PTU, its syllabi, course material, teaching methodology, faculty & evaluation system and had acknowledged that the course content and the syllabi of PTU to be the latest one as per the industry requirements. The courses offered by the Punjab Technical University had been rated equivalent to the similar courses offered by the U.K. Universities and Institutions and this equivalence is acknowledged from retrospective effect i.e. all the students who had passed out earlier will also have the same benefits.
The students who had completed Graduation from PTU DEP are rated equivalent to U.K. Graduates and can pursue Post Graduation abroad. The students who have/will complete Post Graduation or PG Diplomas can complete Master Degree in U.K. in just 1 year out of which 6 months will be classroom teaching and for the remaining 6 months the student will be on a full time job arranged by U.K. University.
