Revoking land allotment order shall have portentous dimensions: Nirmal
‘Asks Governor not to succumb to pressures’

Jammu | June 28
Senior BJP leader Prof Nirmal today alleged that like separatist outfits, the Congress, the PDP, NC and the left parties are playing with fire by communalizing the whole issue of Shri Amarnath Yatra by opposing the decision to transfer 800 kanals of land to SASB for creating facilities for pilgrims. These parties are inciting the innocent Kashmiri Muslims and inducing them to come on the streets to vomit anti-India feelings with their ugly eyes on vote bank politics ignoring the dangerous repercussions their ulterior designs have already produced across the country, he added.
Addressing media persons here today Singh said ‘What has added more fuel to the fire is the communally-motivated attacks on the Amarnath Yatris currently camping in different parts of the Kashmir Valley, including Srinagar’.
Dr. Nirmal Singh expressed grave concern over the perverted move of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, PDP leader and Dy. Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig and NC President Omar Abdullah to drag the constitutional office of the state Governor in the otherwise avoidable controversy over Shri Amarnath Yatra. He said their suggestion that the State Governor, N.N. Vohra, who is also the Chairman of the SASB, should write a letter to the State Chief Minister telling the government that SASB does not require the 800 kanals of land at Baltal, is as mischievous as it is aimed at giving respectability to the politics of separatism, based on worst form of communalism, and tarnishing the image of the State Governor.
The BJP leader expressed the hope that Governor N.N. Vohra would reject outright this communally- motivated suggestion taking into consideration the fact that transferring back the said piece of land to the forest department would be construed as a major concession to terrorism. He drew the attention of the State Governor to the fact that the Kashmir-based parties and the so-called INC have been seeking to re-create pre-1990 situation in Kashmir which resulted in the release of half a dozen dreaded militants, including JKLF Chief, in lieu of the release of the then Union Home Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed’s daughter, Rubiya Sayeed, who had been kidnapped by the Muslim extremists and separatists.
Dr. Singh has told the State Governor that acceptance of the suggestion as made by the PDP, the NC and supported by the Congress-led government would simply embolden the separatists and communalists in Kashmir to put forth demands ranging from vacation of the land under the Indian army and para-military forces to demilitarization to India-Pakistan joint control over Jammu and Kashmir and so on.
