| Two special police officers among four killed in J-K | | |
Srinagar, Sep 1 Four persons, including two special police officers, were killed and three others injured in separate militancy-related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, where security forces arrested three suspected ultras and recovered nine kgs of RDX today, a police spokesman said. Two SPOs, Naresh Kumar and Manhori Lal, were killed by militants at Mastan Gawadi Nallah in Kishtwar area of Doda district last night, the spokesman said.
He said the SPOs were posted at Baroti police post and were returning home after duty when they were killed by militants of Hizbul Mujahideen.
Police recovered the body of a teacher Mansoor Ahmad Parray, a resident of Pahlipora, from Keller-Rajpora forest in Pulwama district of south Kashmir today, the spokesman said.
He said the deceased alongwith his father Abdul Ahad and a relative Muzaffar Ahmad Mir of Srinagar were intercepted by some militants at Bijbura last evening when they were coming towards Pahlipora from Paddar and were severely beaten up, causing death of Mansoor and injuries to Ahad and Mir.
The injured were hospitalised, the spokesman added.
He said police also recovered bullet-riddled body of one Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, a carpenter by profession, from Darwashbagh in Pattan area of Baramulla district today.
Sheikh, a resident of Kachwa Muqam village of Kreeri, was reportedly abducted by militants from his house and later shot dead, the spokesman said. |
