Unemployment, falling economy, student unrest, major achievements of BJP: Manohar
1/10/2020 10:11:10 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 10: Former Minister and President DCC Kathua Dr Manohar Lal Sharma on Friday conducted monthly block congress meeting at Billawar.
During the meeting Dr Sharma came down heavily on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and criticized its leadership for failing to live up to the expectations of the common masses and befooled them by giving hollow slogans and promises.
While addressing the gathering, Manohar lambasted BJP by saying that during BJP's tenure everything is getting lost like unemployment, water from hand pumps, and sugar from ration depots and much more.
He further said due to anti-youth policies of BJP government youth of the country and especially district Kathua has suffered the worst as no new employment opportunity was provided.
He further pitched for district status for Billawar and Basohli areas of Kathua district and also pressed for delimitation of constituencies before assembly elections. Manohar said that long time ago Transformer repair workshop was inaugurated in Billawar but questioned that if the workshop is functioning then why the transformers are being send to Kathua for repairs and take months for their return.
Dr Sharma further said that majority of roads under PMGSY are pending. To name a few he said work has not moved an inch on gol thal ramkote road and billawar circular road in past 7-8 months and said major chunk of payments are pending in MNREGA which is forcing the contractors and workers to live miserable life.
Dr Sharma further questioned the reason for the stopping of tourism projects for Sukrala Mata and Bala sundri Shrine and also lambasted the government for failing to pay salaries to the pujaris of the shrines.
He requested Honorable Governor to fill the vacant vacancies lying in various departments on priority basis to cater the rising problem of unemployment. Dr Sharma further request governor look into matter of regularization of teachers & daily wagers in different departments which is a long pending demand and make sure they get their pending wages released at the earliest.
