RTO drafts schedule to observe Road Safety Week-2020

JAMMU, Jan 10: Office of the Regional Transport Office has drafted a schedule of events for observance of 31st Road Safety Week-2020 commencing from 11 January to 17 January.
It was decided that walkathon rally will be organized from Gulshan Ground to Rotary Club Gandhi Nagar on the first day in which all the stakeholders including, school children, driving institutes, transport associations, Police, SRTC, Civil Defense, NCC, NYK etc. will participate.
On 12th January, road safety awareness cum health check up camp will be organized at Railway Station by Health & Ayurvedic Department and Red Cross Society for drivers and conductors.
On 13th January, NCC volunteers along with officers of MVD, Traffic and LMD will distribute pamphlets on road safety, conduct gift a rose to traffic violator campaign and also sensitize auto drivers about usage of meters at different chownks of Jammu city.
Similarly, on 14th January, painting cum poster competition will be organized at Wave Mall in which students from various schools and colleges will participate where as on 15th January women's two wheeler rally will be flagged off from Jammu University. Blood Donation Camp and Street Plays regarding road safety will also be organized in different parts of the city.
On 16th January, symposium on road safety will be organized at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium Jammu University in which students from various schools and colleges will participate.
On the last day of the Road Safety Week, a valedictory function will be organized in Police Auditorium in which cultural items, skits on road safety theme, speeches by experts and prize distribution will be the key features of the event.
