Digitization of Land Records: Dr Kotwal reviews progress in Jammu District

JAMMU, Jan 10: Financial Commissioner Revenue, J&K Chief Executive Officer, Jammu & Kashmir Land Records Management Agency (JaKLaRMA), Dr. Pawan Kotwal, today reviewed the progress of writing/ updation of Jamabandis in Jammu district as part of the digitization of Land Records under Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP). He took detailed review of the progress in remaining 10 Tehsils of 22 Tehsils of District Jammu, as the progress in 12 Tehsils was reviewed in the recent past. The progress of digitization of land records was reviewed in R S Pura, Suchetgarh, Marh, Akhnoor, Jourian, Maira Mandrian, Chowki Choura, Khour, Pargwal, and Khara Balli. Speaking at the meeting, the FCR directed the concerned officials to expedite the writing and updation of Jamabandis so that all the scanned documents are updated within the set time frame. He appreciated work of the revenue officials, who wrote error free Jamabandis in stipulated timeframe and asked those lagging behind to gear up the pace of work to achieve the set target. "The target is achievable but the need is to work with added dedication," he added. He asked the senior functionaries to extend full support to the officials tasked with updating and writing of error free data of revenue land records adding that the task demands a team work effort. He urged for close cross checking and scrutiny of processed records at different levels. The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Revenue, Nazir Ahmad Baba; Regional Director, Survey & land Records Jammu, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad; Additional Commissioner Jammu, Rakesh Kumar Srangal; ADC Jammu, Dr Tahir Firdous ; SDMs of Chowki Choura, Khour, R S Pura, Consultant JaKLaRMA, Tarseem Chand, besides Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and senior officials of the concerned department.
