1/10/2020 10:39:36 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 10: To educate the people about benefits of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and garner support to defeat the mis-information campaign launched by some political parties, BJP Mahila Morcha Jammu District, under its District President Rekha Mahajan organised a signature campaign in Nai Basti area of Gandhi Nagar Assembly Constituency.
Mahila Morcha District team took this campaign under party's nationwide programme on the issue of CAA.
To boost the morale of the Mahila Morcha activists, former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta and BJP Jammu District President Vinay Gupta also reached the venue. Hundreds of people, including senior citizens, housewives, businessmen and young boys and girls penned down their signatures to support CAA.
Senior leader Suresh Jamwal, Corporator Raj Rani Jamwal, Mahila Morcha State General Secretary Sanjita Dogra, State Vice President Monika Khosla, Mandal president Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Ward president Naveen Gupta, Sangeeta Anand, Sandhya Gupta, Poonam Gupta, Indu Puri, Mandal presidents, Indu Gupta, Rekha Chouhan and Prominent of the area were also present there.
Kavinder Gupta, on this occasion, said that historic Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has been widely appreciated by people across the country but some political parties have started playing communal card to mislead a particular community, which is highly condemnable.
Rekha Mahajan said that CAA is going to provide an opportunity to the Hindus and Minorities to seek citizenship of India if they feel insecure, humiliated and fear threat to their survival in Muslim majority countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. She said that women constitute about 50 per cent of the population of the country and hence the Morcha has been assigned to go to public and contribute in making massive awareness through signature campaign. She appealed the people not to get misled and go through the contents of CAA themselves.
