Mahila Shakti Kendra organises awareness programme on Child Rights

KISHTWAR, Jan 10: Mahila Shakti Kendra Kishtwar organized an awareness programme on the issues related to child abuse, sexual violence, culpability of young offenders and issues relating to the cyber offences, POCSO Act, good and bad touch etc at Bal Ashram Kishtwar.
The programme was attended by Women Welfare Officer, MSK Roohie Shamma, District Co-ordinator MSK Shanu Rana and Heena Jaan, Superintendant Bal Ashram Kishtwar, Rajesh Sharma, Senior Assistant DSWO Kishtwar Jagdish Raj, besides staff members and the inmates of Bal Ashram Kishtwar.
While interacting with inmates of Bal Ashram, Women Welfare Officer, MSK Roohie Shamma spoke at length regarding Child rights, Child Abuse, provisions regarding Child Abuse including POCSO Act, Child Helpline and about the good touch and bad touch.
District Coordinator MSK, Shanu Rana and Heena Jan spoke about different Government Welfare Schemes available for their uplift.
Superintendent Bal Ashram Kishtwar Rajesh Sharma appreciated MSK Kishtwar for holding such awareness events and said that crime against children had increased and awareness is needed to prevent such crimes.
He further added that everyone should work together with social responsibility to guide children in the right path.
