| Shastri for early report on pay panel suggestions | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 29 Subash Shastri, president National Mazdoor Conference has expressed his concern over the alleged inordinate delay in submitting suggestions to the government regarding anomalies in the 6th pay commission report by the committee of secretaries headed by cabinet secretary. Addressing a workers’ rally here today, Shastri urged upon the prime minister to direct the committee to submit report immediately and ensure follow up on it within a fortnight as the matter has already got much delayed. He said prices of essential commodities have already skyrocketed and with inflation crossing 11.42%, the delay of every single day in implementation of the new pay structure across the country is multiplying the economic hardship of the employees. He said it is very astonishing that the new price hike is due from January 2006 and even after lapse of 2 ½ years the implementation of the 6th pay commission recommendations is no where which has become a major cause of concern among the salaried class. He said the new pay hike should be affected in such a manner that there remains no scope for anomalies in any grade and sastisfies the all sections of government functionaries. Several resolutions were adopted in the rally which included continuance of services of casual labour for malli training beside their regularization, release of wages at the earliest etc. Those who present in the rally included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kocchar, Roshan Lal, Vijay Kumar and Bharat Bhushan. |
