| Kashmiri Hindus warn of backlash on Amarnath Shrine issue | | ‘PDP is no less Islamic than separatists’: says RIK | | New Delhi | June 29 Roots- In- Kashmir, a frontline global initiative of the Kashmiri Hindus, today came out on the streets of New Delhi against the communalization and politicization of the sacred shrine of Hindus – Shri Amarnath along with hundreds of displaced Kashmiri Hindus. The CP-Jantar Mantar road was blocked in protest for over an hour. "The ongoing crisis in the Valley is a well crafted exercise by the separatists and some "anti-national" forces. It comes at a time when the Amarnath pilgrimage was in progress and the J&K elections are round the corner. The furore that these anti-national forces have created over the simple transfer of land clearly reveals the real agenda of these forces. "While on the one hand they purportedly issue messages and calls for return of the Pandits back to the valley, yet the kind of reaction that they have shown to what seems to be a normal transfer of land through an Act by the State Cabinet, only goes on to show the sick sectarian mentality that they suffer from." said, Amal Magazine, Coordinator, Roots In Kashmir. The consistent communal statements and activities in the past few days in the Valley by Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), People's Democratic Party (PDP), Communist Party of India (M) has revealed what lies beneath the surface of the so called separatist movement. More than six hundred Hindu temples and Shrines have been desecrated and destroyed as a part of a systematic plan of cleansing the Valley of any traces of its glorious Hindu past. Hundreds of acres of land attached to the Hindu Shrines and temples has been encroached upon and occupied not just by the anti Hindu elements or the separatists but even by the very State government that is supposed to protect this unique heritage of the State, he said. He said while no one batted an eyelid when all this was happening or when temples were being sold, the ruckus that the separatist and anti Indian forces are creating on this transfer of land is a clear indication of what lies beneath the surface of the so called Kashmiriyat, he added.. Magazine said the PDP which is a part of the State Government has shown its true colours, despite approving the transfer of land. It has shown that it is no less Islamic than its separatist counterparts. They are at the forefront of this mayhem, fuelling the anti Hindu campaign in the valley, he remarked. He said Kashmir's forests have been robbed, plundered and cleaned over the years by the very politicians who are crying foul today adding that the very premise on which they are grounding their opposition is truly only an alibi for the naïve. Thousands of acres of forest land have been destroyed in the process of creating the ill-famed Mughal road which is nothing but a step towards the creation of the "Greater Kashmir". The other premise that the demography of the valley will be changed by a mere hundred acres of land needs no explanation as itself reveals the nature of separatist mentality that the State's coalition partner is infected with. If the demography of the state has been changed it has been due to the forced exodus of half a million Kashmiri Pandits who are the original inhabitants of the valley, Mazagine said. "The same leaders who are now shedding tears and leading a vengeful campaign were the ones who drove away the Kashmiri Pandits from their land. It is a shame that the State is acting like a spineless organization against the anti national elements, who in the garb of the land transfer issue, are trying to disintegrate this nation" said Aditya Raj Kaul, founder-member Roots In Kashmir. |
