Jammu | June 29
Condemning the role of Hurriat, NC and PDP in particular in communalizing situation in the state over the transfer of land to SASB, the Jammu State Morcha (Progressive) has said PDP leaders, in league with Hurriat Conference and other secessionist elements, are responsible for raising the communal and parochial emotions and hype among the Kashmiri masses and misleading them on transfer of land to SASB. Addressing media persons here today Prof Virender Gupta, Morcha president also condemned the role of NC which also did not lag behind in exploiting the public sentiments on the issue to grind political axe.
He said the JSM has taken serious note of the attacks on the pilgrims and other visitors in the valley by the unruly mob and putting hindrance in the smooth conduct of yatra and warned that such uncalled for actions could lead to serious repercussions and maintained cancellation of land allotted to SASB would send wrong signals disturbing the secular ethos of the state as well as that of the country. He said the Morcha demands construction of an alternative route to the Cave Shrine via Kishtwar.
He said in the light of the present controversy and the consistent black mailing tactics being adopted by the Kashmiris by raising controversies about the accession of Jammu and Kashmir with India and their anti-Jammu, communal and parochial attitude and policies, there is no way left for the people of Jammu region to demand reorganization of the state by creating Jammu as a separate state and granting Union Territory status to Ladakh region.
Divender Singh Jamwal, Chandra Uday Sharma, Shiv Rattan Singh and Dushant Kumar were also present at the press conference.
