| Matoo felicitated at Gurmat Sangam | | | Early Times Reporter
Jammu | June 29
To felicitate Prof Amitab Matoo, VC University of Jammu, on his nomination as member Knowledge Commission, a Gurmat Sangam was organized at the Digiana Ashram here under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch.
On this occasion, a shield, showing the sketch of Dera Nangali Sahib, was presented to Prof Matoo, besides a shawl in the shape of a Siropra by the Mahant. Prof BPS Sehgal Dean of Academic Affairs and Prof. Minakshi Kilam Director Colleges Development were also presented Siropas.
Former Ministers Rangil Singh and Gurmukh Singh in their welcome address praised Prof Matoo for his excellence work towards the University and organizing seminars on various topics.
Responding to the sentiments of the speakers, Prof Matoo appreciated the role of Mahant Manjit Singh for bringing revolution in the field of education by opening many colleges and schools along with religious education where many deserving and poor candidates were getting education without any caste or creed. |
