| ‘Governor sets dangerous trend’ | | Vorha exhibits weak kneed policy towards separatists: RIK | | New Delhi | June 30 ROOTS-IN-KASHMIR(RIK) has condemned in uncertain terms the decision of the State Governor N .N. Vohra to handover the functioning of the Yatra to the State government describing it as a weak kneed policy towards the separatists and rabble rousers. In a statement issued here today the Organization has said that ‘one finds it disturbing to note that land to Muslim Institutions like the Islamic University and the Baba Ghulam University in Rajouri is given in complete violation of the rules laid down by the Government, yet when it comes to Hindu Institutions the state dithers and acts like a stooge of the separatists and their supporters like the PDP’. Vohra has not only set a dangerous trend at the very onset of his tenure but also showed which side his loyalties are, the statement added. It further said the Congress Government, both at the centre and the state, leaves no stone unturned when it comes to providing Haj Houses and Haj subsidies to Muslims yet 100 acres was too much for them to handle. While Haj pilgrims are given support financially, no such support is given to Yatris to attend to Hindu pilgrimages, the Organization said. The statement said that ‘it is a shame that a modern secular India should be so biased against the Hindus who constitute more than 80% of its population’. The step is bound to result in a backlash of one kind or another and the Governor and the Congress Government at the Center should be prepared for the same. |
