HC allows petitioner to participate in selection process

Justice Nirmal Singh of J&K High Court Jammu Wing today directed the SSRB to allow the petitioner to participate in the selection process.
Court, after hearing petitioner Joyti Bala in person issued notice to State of J&K through Chief Secretary, Chairman of J&K Service Selection Recruitment Board and convener SSRB District Kathua returnable within four weeks. In the meanwhile Court ordered that, subject to the objections from other side, respondents SSRB are directed to allow the petitioner to participate in the selection process (Teachers). The result of the petitioner, however, shall not be declared till further orders, Court directed.
The petitioner claiming to be a post-graduate in Hindi had applied for the post of teacher under SC Category. The application form of the petitioner was accepted and entertained by the respondent Board against proper receipt. The interview of petitioner was fixed on June 16, 2008. The petitioner belonging to Punjab has married at Kathua in J&K. At the time of interview, the petitioner had produced her SC certificate and also category certificate of her husband issued by the Tehsildar Kathua. The respondents did not interview the petitioner on the ground as she was not in possession of category certificate. Immediately thereafter she applied for the same and also filed the petition seeking direction to respondents to allow the petitioner to participate in the interview. Court after hearing the petitioner in persons allowed her to participate in the selection process. JNF
