| PHE employees protest attack on staff | | | Early Times Reporte

To register resentment over the assault on PHE staff, at Bhoria Filtration Plant near Bag-a-Bahu and alleged failure of police authorities to arrest the culprits in spite of lodging FIR against them, a protest demonstration was held at PHE complex, Narwal and central pumping station Bhoria by the engineer fraternity of the department under the banner of ALL J&K Engineering Graduates and Diploma Engineers Association. Protestors condemned the unlawful act of corporator of the area Asha Rani and her husband Rakesh Bhagat and demanded their immediate arrest. Speaking to the media persons they told that similar type of protest will be held at chief engineer PHE complex, BC road tomorrow against such unlawful act and pressed the authorities to take strong measures so that such type of incidents should not be happened again. They further said that due to the attack on pumping station Boria a severe damage was caused to the pumping machinery resulting failure of water supply to the various areas. Pertinent to mention here that people of the Bag-a-Bahu area pelted stones on the PHE employees to lodge their protest against the contaminated water supply yesterday. |
