JKAACL holds Mahila Kavi Sammelan

The J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organized multilingual mahila kavi sammelan at K.L. Saigal Hall here today.
Secretary, academy, Zafar Iqbal Manhas in his welcome address said that the women have played great role in all sphere particularly in social and national development, and quoted name of few women from Vedic to modern times who have sacrificed themselves in the interest of nation. In this present world, there is urgent need to provide a space to the women to express their views, ideas for the overall development of the society and the nation as well.
He said and added there can be no substitute of woman as she is obedient daughter, dedicated mother and devoted wife as well and in the world scenario the women have great contribution in the sphere of art, culture, social, Politics, science and technology and moreover the India is also known its Culture Philosophy and values and the other side it is known by the great sacrifices achievement and the contribution to nation by the women and he further quoted the names of number of great women. Prof. Rita Jitendra who presided over sammelan also spoke about the contribution of women in the present and past scenario.
The prominent women who recited their poems include Krishna Gupta, Dr. Khyma Kaul, Prof. Rita Jitendra, Yogita Yadav, Anita Mehta, Seema Sharma, Santosh Khajuria, Vijaya Thakur, Dr. Usha Vyas, Santosh Sangra, Nirmal Vikram, Kanta Jamwal, Nighat Nazar, Santosh Shah Nadam, Santosh Parna, Amarjeet Kaur Neer, Chand Deepika, Anuradha Sharma, Swarnjeet Kaur Raina, Hardeep Kaur, Deepak, Hajinder Kaur and Shabnam Akhter and Shakeela Tabassum recited.
Additional Secretary Sabita Bakshi presented vote of thanks and congratulated all the poetess for the recitation of their poems. Proceeding of the programme was conducted by Neeru Sharma, Editor Hindi.
