The Gorkha community of the state in a condolence meeting mourned the demise of Field Marshall SHFJ Manekshaw, who passed away recently at Banglore after a brief illness.
S B Rana President J&K Gorkha Sabha in a condolence meeting recalled the human qualities of late Field Marshall. He said late Manekshaw was like a father figure to Gorkha battalion who always held him in high esteem. He always used to praise the jawans and officers for their gallantry, sincerity and honesty.
Rana on behalf of J&K Gorkha sabha urged upon the centre government that ‘Bharat Rattan’ award be confirmed to late Field Marshall Manekshaw posthumously. |
