Jammu | July 1
Jammu State Morcha (P) organized a protest march in support of Jammu Bandh call through the Jammu city against the State Govt decision of taking back the 800 Kanals of land from Shri Amarnath Shrine Board while succumbing to the pressure of fundamentalist, communal, anti-Jammu forces including Hurriyat, PDP and National Conference.
Prof. Varinder Gupta and Dig Vijay Singh while addressing the gathering at prominent places en route said that the decision of taking back the land and the management of the yarta through Baltal from the Shrine Board is discriminatory, prejudicial, communal and against the Hindu Community and amounts to completely tearing off the secular fabric of the state. When the Govt can hand over the possession of far grater pieces of Govt or forest land to Islamic University and Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University free of cost, this act of the Governor and the Govt is highly prejudicial, discriminatory and communal against the Hindu community. They demanded calling back of the State Governor, appointment of new Governor and dismissal of the present Government, which has completely failed on all fronts and retrieving back the decision announced.
The leaders asked the people of Jammu region should not tolerate the communal and anti-Jammu rule any further and launch a convincing battle to throw away the yoke of Kashmiri slavery once for all.
“Separate Jammu State is the only answer to all the miseries and suffering of the people of Jammu region.” They said that so long Jammu remains part of Jammu and Kashmir State it bounds to get discriminated against; suffer humiliation and tolerate all types of injustice because of the communal and anti-Jammu mindset of Kashmir leadership and the appeasement policy of Govt of India towards them.
