Srinagar: Unidentified gunmen shot dead a shopkeeper at Baramulla, while as troopers arrested two militants including a guide at Baramulla. Meanwhile anti tank grenades and huge cache of arms and ammunition is claimed to have been recovered at Rajouri and Kupwara. Reports reaching Srinagar indicate that one Aijaz Ahmed Hamal S/O Gh Rasool Hamal R/O Ganaiehamam Baramulla, age 26 years, carpenter by profession, while on his return in the evening was fired with pistol.He was critically injured , but succumbed to injuries while being shifted to hospital. Meanwhile police sources told KNS that army arrested two militants including a guide and handed them over to police, while as one militant was apprehended at Naidkhai Sumbal. Army, According to police sources, blasted a militant hide out in a nearby jungle at Kupwara , while as huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered. The recovered arms and ammunition include 161 UPGEL Grenade, 22 anti-tank grenade,419 detonators, 1 AK 47 rifle, 5 magazines, 280 rounds of bullets, 1 IED,16 IED boxes, 14 switches, 1 Peeka Gun Magazine, 7 UBGL,2 RCC Bombs, 90 rounds of snipper and 10 kgs RDX. Similarly 9 AK rifles, 9 magazines, 1 Peeka Gun and 1 Magazine were, according to police sources,recovered during a search operation at Peer Kanthoni Rajouri. Yet in another similar incident one pistol, 1 magazine, 8 rounds, 1 wireless set , 1 hand grenade, 68 Peeka rounds and 98 AK rounds were also recovered at Boora Gali Kandi Rajouri |
