| JMC holds meeting of cooperators. | | | Early Times Reporter

The Jammu Municipal Corporation held its 42nd meeting of General Body today in the assembly hall of JMC. A total of 35 corporators including Mayor attended the session despite strict curfew restriction and non-availability of public transport.
As per a release, the house carried out its business in cordial atmosphere and several questions of public importance put up by the participants were replied by the Municipal Commissioner. Wide ranging discussions were held on the issues like sanitation, electrification of various wards, repair of street lights, re-organization of the Municipal Corporation, management of Municipal Solid Waste and the installation of water coolers etc.
The Municipal Commissioner gave a detailed account of the activists of the Corporation in attending the works of the urgent nature and also explaining as to how a comprehensive document in respect of re organization of Municipal Commissioner has been prepared to take care of entire 112 sq. kms of area, comprising 71 wards. The Municipal Commissioner also revealed to the house that creation of additional 500 SKCs are being proposed to strengthen the existing strength. Special provision have been made in current years budget to purchase items like lime, Wheel barrows, Wooden Rehries, Dumper Placers and other allied machineries. Various Corporator high lighted the problems of their wards which were duly replied by the Mayor and the Commissioner. Several resolutions were passed in today’s meeting, the release added. |
