| Trust Govt, it will do better: Lal Singh | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 3 Unlike most of the Ministers who are either keeping away from the present situation making a balancing act leaving the Congress party to stand culprit in public eye, the senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament Chowdhary Lal Singh has come in strong defense of the government explaining pros and cons of the latest decision. Regretting the politicking by some vested interests, Lal Singh challenged the agitators to prove with facts as how religious sentiments have been hurt by taking over of the Shri Amarnath Yatra by the government. He said that the government is directly responsive to the government and is committed to make better arrangements for the pilgrims. Addressing a press conference here today Lal Singh said after the Governor conveyed to the Chief Minister that the Board did not require land for developing the infrastructure for Amarnath pilgrims at Baltal and Domel the Chief Minister in particular and the state cabinet in general took a sound decision on giving the land to the Tourism Department for raising the infrastructure for the pilgrims. Lal Singh said that since the Government has assured that it would manage all the yatra affairs there was no need for raising a ruckus over the revocation of the order.In the same vein Lal Singh, held responsible all thsoe people present in the cabinet for the crisis over Amarnath land transfer issue. He targeted PDP for its dual policy and blamed the PDP top brass for whole crisis.
He said during the last several decades the state Government used to make arrangements for the yatra.He added even after the Board was constituted state agencies,including tourism,health,public health engineering,PDD nd PWD would mke all the necessary arrangements for the hassle free pilgrimage to Amarnath cave.
The Congress leader came down heavily on communal forces and vested interests in Jammu and Kashmir for exploiting people.He appealed to the people in the Jammu region to maintain peace and communal amity and give time to the Government to show its results as far as developing the infrastructure on various halting stations on the Pahalgam-cave and Baltal-cave routes are concerned. |
