| KP women bear brunt | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 3 Elderly Kashmiri Pandit women today became target of cops chasing the mob fury as tear gas shells were thrown into the residential houses in Durga Nagar area of Talab Tillo. Eye witnesses said that a heavy contingent of Police while chasing the mobsters barged into a locality in Durga Nagar mostly housing the Kashmir Pandit families and threw teargas shells. Though the residential houses were not the actual target of the Police but the unintended shells caused injuries to the inmates. More than five old Kashmiri Pandit ladies were injured when police opened fire and burst teargas shells inside their homes. This was done when police was unable to control the protesters so they attacked the ladies in their houses in Sector 2 of Durga Nagar area. This was in continuation to what police did yesterday at Nagrota Migrant Camp where police men openly attacked on Kashmiri Migrants who were peacefully sitting outside thier homes due to a power cut, after this attack the ladies of the camp chased the police men with thier "chappals", the police men had to run to prevent them selves from getting beaten up by women with "chapplas". Also on Tuesday the most of the people who were injured in Muthi during police firing were Kashmiri Pandit migrants only. In Bantalab, a group of protesting activists of various Hindu organisations damaged a building owned by former militant and Member of Legislative Council (MLC) late Javed Shah, which houses government middle school. |
