Training of sixth batch commences at shakti sadan

‘Shakti Sadan’, A Vocational Training Cum Women Empowerment Centre, running under aegis of Uniform Force continues to render yeomen service to the insurgency affected women of Reasi, Ramban and Rajouri Districts. Having successfully completed five courses on vocational/women empowerment training for the needy women, the training of the sixth batch comprising of 30 women commenced at `Shakti Sadan’ Reasi on 03 Jul 2008.
30 women, hailing from remote areas having varying academic and social background will be undergoing two months of comprehensive training schedule which a part from honing their personal skills will infuse lot of confidence in them, with the overall aim to make them independent and self reliant. Training in quality environment for a job oriented curriculum will refine the personality of these women manifold and help them to stand on their feet in the days to come.
Stitching, knitting, food processing, candle making, handicraft, computers personal grooming and health awareness are some of the compulsory and optional subjects in which these women will be trained. Proper training infrastructure and training material is provided by Uniform Force at the `Shakti Sadan’ as part of ongoing ‘OPERATION SADBHAVANA’ Project. On culmination of the training, there will be a sea change in self reliance and confidence of these women. The interest shown in all training activities and confidence gained towards the end of training by trainees in previous courses, is a positive indicator of the humane and selfless service rendered by Uniform Force towards bringing normalcy and development in the area.
