| VET CAMP held | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 4 Out break of equine flu, a respiratory distress disease among and mules at Katra has badly affected the health of approx 8000 animals pressed into providing essential ferrying services to the thousand of devotees who visit Mata Vaishno Devi shrine everyday. Although civil administration has already started full fledged operation against the deadly disease but the fast spread of deceased caused shortage of medicines and veterinary stan, 0020. Army has already established a veterinary dispensary at Katra last year. On learning about the outbreak of this deadly disease, Counter Insurgency Force Uniform procured sufficient stock of required medicines, and provided free of cost treatment to the mules and ponies. The timely action of Uniform Force has helped in treating the thousands of animals in the absence of which the devotees could have faced real problem in paying visit to the shrine. The further diagnosis is being carried out to know the exact nature and cause of illness.. Army veterinary staff from 3 Advance Field Veterinary Hospital under the supervision Officer Commanding Army Dog Unit is treating the mules. The medicines are being provided by the Army. |
