| Will not allow compromise with nation's future: BJP | | | New Delhi | July 4 With Samajwadi Party set to join ranks with UPA, BJP today suggested that the government was compromising the future of the country for its survival and vowed to oppose any move that will affect the nation's nuclear sovereignty. "Nobody has the right to compromise with the future of the country, just to save the government," party President Rajnath Singh told reporters here as SP gave clear signals of supporting the government on the nuclear deal. The 39 MPs of SP will be crucial for the survival of the government in case Left parties, with a strength of 59 members in the Lok Sabha, withdraw support over the nuclear deal. "If the government compromises with country's nuclear sovereignty, BJP will oppose any such move not only in the Parliament and also out of it," the BJP chief said. On the fate of the government, Singh insisted it will fall despite support from Mulayam Singh Yadav-led party. He said the Congress should work for betterment of the country rather than indulge in politics just to save the government. Singh was speaking while meeting a group of trucker operators who visited him to thank him for the support extended by his party. |
