Congress to redouble efforts for prosperous J&K: Vakil

Minister for Social Welfare Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil today said that Congress party would continue to pursue its agenda of peaceful and prosperous J&K state. "National and state integrity espoused by the party since its inception would be further strengthened and machinations of its detractors foiled", he maintained.
Addressing a workers convention at Baramulla, the Minister said that party was fully equipped to take on communal forces both within and outside the state, which he said have joined hands to polarize state on religious and regional lines for lust of power. "These elements will not be allowed to weaken unity and integrity of state", he added.
Vice Presidents of State PCC Mr. Bashir Ahmad Magry, Mr. Ali Mohammad Bhat, General Secretaries Dr. Abdul Ahad Yatoo, Mrs. Amrin Badar, Mohammad Anwar Bhat, Mr. Chuni Lal Bhat, and Mr. Farooq Indrabi, President Youth Congress Mohammad Amin Bhat, General Secretaries Youth Congress Dr. Iqbal John, Mr. Mohammad Altaf Naik, District Presidents Mr. Zahid Hussain John, Mr. Mohammad Maqbool Bhat, Mr. Javaid Ahmad Magray and Mr. Mohammad Shafi Banday also spoke on the occasion.
The Minister praised Jammumites for their secular and tolerant character and appealed them not to get swayed by the propaganda of opportunist and communal forces. These elements were vainly trying to create wedge in the society for vote bank politics, he said.
Vakil also cautioned people against falling in the trap of PDP, which he said has now fully got exposed to people for its dual policies and political gimmickry.
The convention passed a resolution hailing the qualitative, effective and pragmatic leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad showing complete solidarity with him.
