| Protest held at several places, ADC appeals for communal harmony | | | Early Times Reporter

Defying curfew a wide protest demonstration was held at R S Pura against government decision on revocation of SASB land and effigies of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed were burnt. Shouting slogans against government, activists of various political parties demanded governor rule and in order to disperse the mob police resorted to lathi charge and held several protestors. Tyre were burnt and stone pelting reports have also been received. Similar type of protests were also held at Miran Sahib, Brij Nagar and adjoining areas. In order to normalize the situation police arrested the activist of Shiv Sena,Kasotri Singh.The injured identified as Bittu Kummar,Rakesh Kumar,Vijay C houdhary and Swarn Lal were rushed to GMC hospital for treatment. Where as number of protestors under the leadership of Ashok Kumar Khajuria, president BJP Sharnarthi Cell gathered at different temples of Narwal Pain, Gadigarh, Chatta, Bhor Camp, Nai Basti and adjoining areas and held protest demonstration sloganeering “Har Har Mahadev”. Meanwhile ADC Jammu, who is also in charge DC Jammu, Mohd Sadiq Sheikh has appealed the Jammuites to observe peace and calmness. |
