| CCI expresses resentment over power cuts | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 5 Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its president Ram Sahai resented the present power crises caused due to system failure in Jammu. As per a press release, Sahai said it is very much unfortunate that government has failed to take preemptive corrective steps for the repair or replacement of earlier damaged transformers and now after the recent burning down of two transformers an un-retrievable situation has been created. Although the minister has ordered for judicial enquiry into the incident but the expected time period likely to be taken for replacing the damage transformers is so long that the people in general and trade and industry in particular will be rendered helpless and in miserable situation. “Chamber feels that the power crisis which is sure to hit the regular water supply also will add to the fuel on the ongoing burning agitation in Jammu province as the people have already started believing that this crisis has been created deliberately to punish the people of Jammu,” he added. Sahai hoped that the Chief Minister will intervene into the matter and get the process of restoration of power supply expedited by using whatever means which are required for doing the same lest the resentment of the public takes, the release added. |
