| Rajnath: We don’t want Ayodhya II | | BJP goes soft, praises Muslims, accuses Congress for mess | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 5 BJP President Rajnath Singh has said that his party wants an early resolution of the present controversy over revocation of land transfer from Shri Amarnath Shrine Board and does not want the issue to linger on like Ayodhya issue. Rajnath Singh, who was in town today, also clarified that the BJP does not want to make this controversy an election issue and said that the party is committed to its earliest resolution. While complimenting the Muslims of Jammu region for standing with their Hindu brothers on the issue, the BJP chief pointed that the Amarnath shrine is a bridge between Kashmir and rest of India and it should be strengthened at any cost. He claimed that if the BJP is voted is voted in Jammu and Kashmir, in its first decision it will restore the land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board. Along with state government he held the Congress led UPA government as equally responsible for reversing the decision of forest land transfer to Shri Amarnath Shrine board. "It is shameful and most unfortunate decision that the government succumbed before communal and separatist leaders spearheading venom campaign against the shrine board, Singh said addressing a press conference here at party headquarters. Demanding cancellation of the controversial decision of the Ghulam Nabi Azad led minority government BJP President Rajnath Singh told media persons in Jammu that a minority government in the state had no moral and legal authority to reverse the decision taken by the majority government. "If voted to power in the forthcoming state assembly elections our party will revoke the land transfer order, Singh said giving an assurance that we will not let political parties to hurt the sentiments of members of the majority community. Training guns on Congress led UPA government in centre BJP Chief said Centre cannot run away from its responsibility. The state government must have taken this decision with the consent of the government in New Delhi and now they have to explain under what circumstances they reversed the order". He said is is not only a tragedy for the state of Jammu and Kashmir but for the whole of India that both the state and the centre government succumbed to the pressure of communal and anti -national elements and reversed the cabinet decision. Singh, who also visited Government medical college and met BJP workers and supporters injured during agitation said, the state government must give clarification and explain circumstances under which the decision was reversed.He targeted Congress and PDP for playing communal politics and said congress party is t he most communal political party in India. He said in India political parties had never raised objections when it comes to matters of religion and faith but in case of Amarnath land transfer issue Congress and PDP are playing vote bank politics.He reiterated BJP's stand over the issue of abrogation of Article 370 and said special staus has impeded rate of growth in the state. No development is taking place in the state due to article 370, Singh said giving clear indications that BJP is reviewing party's strategy whether to renew demand for separate state hood for the Jammu region. |
