Jammu | July 7
Prof. Virender Gupta and Dig Vijay Singh, the president and secretary general of Jammu State Morcha (Progressive) have welcomed the resignation of Gulam Nabi Azad as Chief Minister.
In a joint press statement, the JSM leaders said, “His kneeling before the fundamentalist, secessionist forces and PDP’s and NC’s communal and anti-India agenda, and taking over of the land, earlier allotted to Shri Amarnath Board and the arrangements of Shri Amarnath Yatra by the Government could not save his Government. The Governor N N Vohra who is equally partner to the unconstitutional and communally biased decision that has severely hurt the sentiments of the People of Jammu region and of the country should also tender his resignation from the Governorship and go. By his patrician and unconstitutional action as a Governor and the Chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board he has lost his credibility in the eyes of the people of Jammu region and all the secular people of the country. His continuation as a Governor shall further add fuel to the fire, particular in Jammu region.”
The release added that Jammu State Morcha (P) appeals to the people of Jammu region to continue their struggle till the decision of the State Government is not reversed and land and management of Shri Amaranth Yatra is not entrusted to the shrine Board, and till the people of Jammu region do not get rid of Kashmir domination and Kashmiri rule.
“They should continue their struggle till their dream of separate Jammu state does not become the reality and they become the master of their own destiny,” the release said.
