Issue before BJP was not Azad’s quitting or staying: Khajuria
7/7/2008 10:44:28 PM
Early Times Reporter
Jammu | July 7
Reflecting on the disgraceful exit of the Congress-led minority government, BJP State President Ashok Khajuria said the issue of his party was not whether this government stays or goes out of power. Hence, there is no need to celebrate the exit of the Ghulam Nabi Azad Government.
How could the people of Jammu celebrate the exit of the Azad-led undemocratic and unconstitutional government when the people of Jammu province are mourning the deaths of their two brave and highly committed sons – martyr Manjit (Bhadrwah) and martyr Ramesh Kumar (Jammu)? Both of them have been martyred by the insensitive and barbarous Congress-led Government to appease the Kashmir-based fundamentalists and pro-Pakistan elements.
Khajuria said the issue which has been provoking explosion after explosion in the entire Jammu province since July 1, when the Congress-led minority government murdered the Constitution, subverted democracy and revoked the land transfer order to please separatists and extremists, is to fight out and defeat the blatant and naked communalism which is being indulged in by the Congress across the country to outrage the sentiments of the Hindus and pit the Muslims and the Hindus against each other.
Elaborating Khajuria said, the BJP and the Shri Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti have achieved only one of the three goals with the unflinching and enthusiastic support of all sections of Jammu society, which have been, in addition, braving the official brutalities without caring for their physical security. He said our agitation would go on till the people of Jammu, nay the nation, achieved the remaining two goals – restoration of the Shrine Board to its pristine glory and removal of State Governor N N Vohra, who subverted the constitution of the Shrine Board and submitted before fanatics and anti-India forces in Kashmir by asking the state government to take back the said land without taking members of the Shrine Board into confidence.
Khajuria further said that the people of Jammu province, whose religious sensitivities today stand outraged and psyche deeply hurt, would not accept anything short of the transfer of the 800 kanals of land back to the Shrine Board which, as per the interim order made by the Division Bench of the State High Court, belongs to the Shrine Board.
Thanking the patriotic people of Jammu province, including women and children, Khajuria said they have changed not only the history of Jammu province, but of the entire country by their brave deeds and supreme sacrifices and the kind of courage and determination they have been displaying ever since the start of the struggle of the nationalists against communalists, separatists and pseudo-secular parties, especially the Congress.
