Jammu | July 7
President of the State Samajwadi Party and former member Parliament, Sheikh Abdul Rehman has expressed his heart felt condolence over the death of Manjit Kumar who was injured in the Seri Bazaar Bomb blast episode, few days ago, and had been brought to Jammu Medical College along with others for treatment.
The SP state supremo further said that earlier, he had visited GMC Jammu to enquire about the health of Manjit Kumar and others, immediately after they were brought in here for medical treatment and had urged upon the authorities to ensure providing of best possible treatment to the victims of the blast on the government’s expense. Sheikh has also demanded the holding of an important enquiry into the blast to unearth those behind the same.
Sheikh expressed his concern over the deteriorating state of affairs of the power supply in Jammu and accused the power department for the same. Referring the cause of the present crisis, he said that the transformer had developed the trouble about six months back, but the lazy and erring officers had given no due attention to it, as a result the faulty and repairable transformer has finally broke down completely. The state SP President further said that he smells deep rooted conspiracy and vested interests behind as one expert namely Nanda, who has come there to check the said transformer, has not been taken to spot and has been lodged in Government Guest House, Jammu for the last four days. Similarly, his reported opinion that the said transformer can be made serviceable without incurring much money, has virtually been given to heed by the Officers of the Electricity Department, who, for their vested interests are reportedly adamant to have the transformer, repaired by the Bharat Heavy Electricity despite the fact that it would involve comparatively many times more money and time, apart from hardship to the consumers.
The State SP Supreme has accordingly called upon the authorities to take early decision to ensure that the defective transformer is got repaired at the earliest so that the hardship of the people could be put to an end. He also asked them to make alternate arrangements for the power supply till the defective one is got repaired and made serviceable.
