| Educational tour held | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 7 Continuing with its focused efforts on the upliftment of children’s education in the region and nurturing of the ‘Torch Bearers of Tomorrow’s Jammu and Kashmir’, a Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Romeo Force organized an educational tour under ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ for the young students hailing from remote areas of Rajouri and Poonch districts. The tour was flagged off from Nagrota today by Maj Gen Sheonan Singh, Officiating GOC, 16 Corps. The ‘Educational Tour’ aims at instilling a sense of awareness and National Integration amongst the young children and also to expose them to the rich cultural heritage of our nation. The tour comprised of 20 students and two teachers. During the tour, the children will be taken to various places of historical and tourist interests like South Indian cities of Trivandrum, Wellington and Secunderabad. Speaking on the occasion, Officiating GOC exhorted the environment about the progress achieved by the country in the past 60 years post independence and see by themselves the rich and varied culture of our country. The prominent locals and parents of the children attended the Flag Off ceremony and expressed their gratitude to the Army for organizing the tour. |
